hey all,

i finally ordered my shortblock today, mmr 900 with windage tray, arp main studs, good oil pum, and notched 17cc low compression pistons!! ---> now for some good blower cams. Suggestions please... I was looking at the crower stage 3 supercharged, i dont think they would help me much until i get the blower, but i bet it would be worth it then. eventually planning on working on the heads to open them up too.

the crowers are 612 intake 612 exhaust / 288 288 duration

anyone know anything about the crowers? will there be clearance issues?

MPH blower cams are rumored to be the best, period.

My Crower Stage 2's are really good. They compliment the blower well. I just have stock heads so they can't live up to their true potential. Stage 3's could be pretty big for the street, great top end, worse low end. you may have PTV issues too. You would definetely have to change springs too. Just what I was told when I bought my Stage 2's.

well i was not terribly worried about the low end since im gonna have a kb 2.6 on there and i do have the 410s in there... which might have to come out hah.

would the big cams be crappy for the bottom even with the kb at about 15 psi?

yeah i found my comp springs are only good for about .55 or so lift, where as the crower springs are good way past the .612.

what do your crower stage 2s sound like tweeked?

To be honest I don't know really what the cams add to the sound. The thing sounds crazy loud becuase of all the exhaust work, stroker, and blower. I'm sure the cams add something. I'll see if I can post a clip tomorrow. In my opinion it sounds awesome and I get compliments all the time on the sound but as they say to each his own.

cool, i was used to my vt na 2s.... i have been sad since they came out. i loved the way it sounded with them in at idle.

I might have to check out some of those mph custom grinds or the crower 2s then, maybe keep some of the lower end since i really wont be up super high that often to really use the big 3s.

Well, honestly, on a set up like that, the last thing I would do is buy an off-the-shelf grind. Contact any of the manufacturers and see what they would suggest for a custom grind. Off-the-shelf grinds are good but not the best for every application. That would basically be like having the stock vortech tune on your car and never getting it retuned. It may work well for a stock car but not for every application.
