is a GT with 64,000 miles to high for cams, its has been dyno tuned with the pridetor too 270 HP and 302 Torque. I am looking into the VT stage one or comp cams stage one direct replacememnt cams What do you guys think BTW this is not a daily driver and i dont race her just like that old school sound and my personal thrill.

Thanks

stage ones will get you a slight lope in the idle, the stage twos may need some valve springs, and will give you a sick lopey ass idle, and probably like 20 hp. your car does not have too many miles for cams. it does not put more stress on your motor unless you rev it to like 7k now. The stage twos MAY move your powerband up, but most people dont experience this.

yea thanks i baby that car so much now i have the pridetor i can tune the car with that i no the peoblem is find someone in the south florida area that i can trust and do this and install the cams so far steeda but they want there tune installed hear i have the priditor that i would have to sell arrrrrr i dont i need to do that unless its just how it is.

It's not wise to install any cam without a tune.

But, VT Stage II cams will shift your powerband up and with a dyno tune you can get around 30-35rwhp.. You WILL need valvesprings for them, I recommend Manley springs :nice:

Putting in VT Stage 2's on my almost 43k 03 :)

If you're not looking to race I would recommend the VT Stage 1's.. VT is suppose to have them real soon (I'm thinking by the end of the week). But the Stage 2's are more aggressive cams, but take more (like valvesprings). You want a dyno tune either way to get your A/F ratio adjusted. If you get the Stage 2's you HAVE to get a tune. Are you an auto or manual? Btw.. what are your emission laws?

I drove my car awhile before I got a tune but I didn't have an aggressive cam (Comp 262). I know a guy who had the Comp 270's and drove his for a while too then drove it from New Orleans to Atlanta before his tune.

My A/F was wacky...even with a mail order tune...but after my dyno tune I gained 5 tenths at the track. The dyno tune is well worth it. You can go with a mail tune to get you by if you go with an aggressive set up. A mild cam you can get away without a tune right away but you are leaving alot of power on the table.

what ever cam you go with I would recommend a tune...Steeda installed my Stage 1 VT's and had trouble keeping the car running prior to them tuning it...picked up 33rwhp
nice gains for the stage 1's!! what were your other mods?
