Hey guys im getting sick of tapping from my non adjustable rockers and have decided to go all out. Im looking at a cam called lunati voodoo https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/lun-10350703k. Im also getting these adjustable rockers https://outlawspeed.com.au/shop/ytst2004. The cam comes with everything except pushrods. Are these products all i need to upgrade my cam? Will the springs and rockers withstand each other? Im open to any and all options in regards to what i should do here but im really keen to try and do the job myself. Also is it cheaper to just buy new heads with adjustable rockers?

depending on what you want from this engine, the cam might be a bit too big, but acceptable. the rpm range is 1800-6200 rpm which makes for a good street/strip cam where you are going to spend a few weekends per season at the strip. so be aware of the slightly soggy off idle response from this engine if you use this cam, unless you are building a stroker motor.

as for the rocker arms, yellow terra has a good reputation and should do you quite well. that said there are sets out there that are just as good or, better imo, that are also less expensive;

any of these sets are about half the cost of the yellow terra rockers, including the lunati voodoo rocker arms.

Cool thanks for the reply. Are they simple to install on stock heads? And is there any valve clearance issues with this type of cam/rocker setup?

installing the rockers on stock heads and studs is simple, you just bolt them on. i would however recommend highly that you invest in screw in studs with that cam. the stock press in studs have a tendency to pull out with heavier springs.

as for valve to piston clearance, you might be ok, but it is always best to check the v/p clearance to avoid any issues.

Alright cool. With all the machine work costs added its starting to lean economically towards after market heads do you think? If this is the direction best suited could you please help me with what are the better heads i should be getting. This car will not be raced. I just want a lumpier sounding cam for the street

you can buy bare heads from world products for about $480 each here;

you an buy stainless steel valves here for about $65;

and then get what ever springs the cam manufacturer recommends, and get retainers as well. you can buy the springs and retainers from competition products as well.

Thanks heaps for that mate. Theres a bit more involved in this than i thought. Ive never built an angine up before so this could be a good little project. Cheers for all your advice
