ive tried calling vortech and asking them what camshaft they'd recommend but they seem to always be super busy.
i have an idea of what i want but heres my setup:

afr 185 heads, trickflow trackhead intake, 70mm tb, mac equal length shorties, magnaflow exhaust, srp pistons, manley rods, vortech s-trim @8psi right now (plan on boosting to 14).

idk, thats the basic rundown right now. just seeing what you guys were running. im sure theres someone on here with a similar setup. its a new setup so i still have my old nitrous cam in there (112 lsa, 510-522 lift, lots of duration)
i know the cam i have in right now is seriously hurting me.

I reckonsome sort of cam where there isn't a lot of valve overlap, and the ramp rates aren't real aggressive. and while most reccomend a split duration cam for a small block ford, that's usually for Ford production heads, where as most people know the exhaust flow is terrible, taking the air in, isn't a problem, its getting the air out. However you're running top of the line AFR's so you could definitely run a single pattern, and may actually benefit more than you would with a split duration. I've heard but don't know with personal experience that the F303 is a great s/c cam, and with it's profile, it would compliment your set up quite nicely.

Stock block is fine for now shouldnt be over 450 rwhp with a decent cam. Off the shelf a F303 is a pretty good boost cam, had good luck with mine and it has made good power. Custom is generally the way to go though.

Turbo isn't going to stress the front cap like a supercharger will . . .

I have seen stock blocks last 100rwhp longer with a turbo vs a blower.

I am saying I ran a supercharger before the turbo and had no problems. Its mainly the rpm's that break stock blocks. Will it eventually break at 450? possibly but it should last long enough until he wants more power.

ive got a dart block sitting in the living room waiting to be built. its gonna be a 347 with a bigger blower eventually. im gonna see how far i can take this stock block. im shooting for the moon.:D
