can a auto fox still haul the mail?

I also had the 4r gearset in my 89 gt AOD and you can most definitly tell the difference between stock AOD and 4r gearset, helps get the car moving much quicker. I would recomend it for stock to mild built engines, not needed for high hp engines and running highstall converters (above 3500)

I would also recomend talking to some of the guru`s on the before mentioned General Click Click Tech - Click Click Racing Forums
starting with silverfox.
With a good 2800-3200 stall and the 4r gearset and updated AOD and 3.73`s you should run 12`s

Im going to upgrade to the - Wide ratio gearing...His... - SPT-R VB option valve body is like the Lentech...Also im going with a Dirty Dog high performance...stall speed convertor 2800-3200 stall...I have 3.27's thas what im keeping for now....

So what do you think i would run with that set-up...Shorty Headers...Off road H-pipe.Flowmaster cat back...Cold air intake...This is a Convertible too...I might be going with a Paxton 1220 sl or a NX plate system spraying 100-125 shot...do you think i could get into the 12's......

I would talk to dan and see how much extra $$ he wants to upgrade to the stamped direct drum and 4 int. clutch as both are very easy and cheap $$ upgrades, and the 2 in. band upgrade is part of the 4r70w setup so you will have a good strong trans.
And you can`t go wrong with alan`s converter. You should run good, but the vert is a heavier ride and with 3.27`s you will be 13`s. With a power adder or 100 shot and more rear gear 12`s should be attainable. (drag radials a must).

My 89 gt with AOD,3.73`s,tw heads went 13.25 and it just needed a converter to make it to 12`s

You need to address the 1 d 1 shuffle. Either do a differ valve body from lintech or somewhere with an aftermarked elec over drive or something. I loved the way my aod with the gear set and aode bands worked, just hated to 1 d 1 it.

A real auto is faster, every time. Just put a TH400 in mine and can't wait to drive it.

I have a 93 LX with a stock motor and aod. I put a precision Industries 2800 stall in mine before I changed the gears. (Still had stock 2.73's)
WOW!! What a difference! :nice: Then I put in 3.73's & a shift kit. Stock motor with bolt ons netted me a 13.8 with a 1.8 60ft on Nitto's.
