Can a transmission lock a motor?

Has anyone ever heard of an AODE locking a motor and preventing it from cranking enough to start? I know the MLPS is not broken, the starter will only engage in P and N. There's something not letting the motor turn.

Yes, I locked up my AOD. The engine wouldn't turn over also in park or netural. The tranny was locked up and had to crack the bellhousing to get it out. I swapped in a t-5 then. Just so you know, it's possible. I knew it was going out though when it'd pretty much netural drop itself in the 1st to 2nd shift. Left about 15-20 of rubber on a auto lmao. Kinda squrielly at 60 mph.

when u put the car in 1st gear when the motor is not running and try to crank? what happens
