Can a transmission that has play in the endshaft cause vibrations?

My T-5 s on its way out. It clunks whe I put it into gear. Can this cause vibration in the shifter at times? It is also when the car is in neutral..

sure, i would rebuild it with new bearings and synchros. It is very easy.

you mean the TAILSHAFT has endplay? and yes that will cause vibrations.. have it rebuilt, or buy a new one

So play in the tailshaft can be felt by a clunking when you put it into gear?
