apparently the previous owner of our Mustang changed out the distributor. can anybody tell from the picture what this is and what it is from? this is mounted on a straight 6 200 CID in our 1966 Mustang

It looks like an electronic ignition. Ford Durospark?

Yeah, now it's just a matter of trying to figure out exactly who made it and what model it is

Yeah looks like a ford unit . see if you can see a part number on the dist
probably late 70s to 80s

I haven't really had time to check, but I will this week. I've been spending my weekend catching up on everything I've been neglecting while working on the car. LOL.

If its a duraspark then you will have the ignition box mounted somewhere close by.
