Can anyone identify this shif knob?

Here's another item I'm not sure of it's past.

It was in the box of assorted 69 parts. It's real wood, approx 2" in diameter, threaded for a Hurst-style shifter, and has a metal top with the standard 4-speed pattern on it.

Ok, can anybody recognize it?

I was curious, had not seen it before. I'll use the golf-club disposal method, see how far it can fly!! There was some other very cool stuff in that box, including a still factory-wrapped headlight aiming adapter!
