My MMs are too noisy w/Tokico Illuminas.
Want to get away from the metal-on-metal design, & the "clicking" noise they give on bumps.
We have MANY potholes on our sh***y streets.

I don't have any noise from my mm plates. I know they had some problems with to much play where the bearings sit in the housing and they would slide up and down and make noise. They sent me a new set and they have no problems.

I got new bearings, too & the noise is cut down, but it's still there, & I'm sick of my wife's asking, "what's that noise?"

On mine the mechined out to much where the bearings sit and the whole bearing would slide up and down. You can see the whole bearing move if you tap on top of the strut nuts with a rubber mallet.

Also, if the Steeda plates aren't a "metal on metal" design, what are they?

Hmm, I thought there was something wrong with my CC plates. I started hearing a poping noise at slow speed when I would turn almost to the stops. So I guess that's normal then?

Are there any negative effects to the popping sounds??

I've never had any noises or sucj from my Pro3i plates and they have a steel bearing. With all the sounds from my car, who could sort them out anyway.

I had the noise in my MM plates as well. I thought it was the plates themselves, but it turned out to be the struts. Every little noise the struts make it transmitted into the strut towers and body via the C/C plates. I swapped in a set of KYB AGXs and there is absolutely no sound now. Even with the struts on the stiffest setting everything is perfectly quiet.

I have the MMs and Illuminas and dont have a problem and my car is lowered with H&R race springs

Mine is lowered also, w/Eibach progressives for a Fox(!!!!!!!) & I love the Illuminas so they are here to stay.
