Can i put an aftermarket steering wheel on my 92 Gt with airbag???

I heard that I would have to go with an 87-89 tilt column. Is there a 90-93 tilt column without airbag?? or can I simpy get an adapter and bolt on a GT Grant (from autozone style) steering wheel to my existing 92 Gt airbag non tilt column?/?

you can get the adapter from autozone and use a grant wheel, thats what im going on my 91 lx with "airbags". Make sure u disconnect the connections before u go removing that sucker, just to be on the safe side.

cool, so i can use my column....but will this trigger my airbag light?? would that effect anything else??

I put a Grant in my 1990. The airbag light will flash, so I just put black electric tape over it. I found out if you take the bulb out it will ding instead which I found anoying.

Does the adapter take care of the problem with the plastics around the column not covering all the way to the steering wheel? I put a 86 3 spoke wheel on m 90 w/airbag, and the plastics no longer cover up the column all the way, and are much bigger than the wheel? Any ideas?

The adapter is small, maybe an 1in in length, so expect some relocation of the steering wheel. They do come with a cosmetic cover to smoth everything out, looks good, but not perfect. No complaints from me tho.

the column covers are different on the airbag and non air bag car.... i would buy an 87-89 column and then it would look good, heck i even got my criuse working and it works great.

but i miss my stock wheel so i am going back to it today.
