Can i run an A9P (89-93) computer in my 95 GT

Hey all im new to the world of mustangs. Im 18, got my 95 Gt last fall, anyway i just got it out of storage and have been planning out what to do to it. I read that 94-95 computer suck cause they cant handle cam changes. Then i sees that pro-m/Flow sells a conversion kit to switch the computer to the 89-93 style but it costs like $500. SO i was thinkin maybe i could take A9P computer and just plug it in. But then i realixzed the fox body's had belt fan not electric so i would also need to buy a fan controller. total it would be $50 for the A9p computer off of ebay dont know how much for the fan controller. HAS ANYONE MADE A HOMEMADE SET UP LIKE THIS AND GOT IT WORK? I'm cheap so id like to come up with my own setup. better spending $100 then $500.

I don't think you can just plug it in and it will work. The pins are in diff locations on both computer thats the reason for that kit. Sorry you are have to spend the money if you really want that kit.

Thanks for the info. guess i got another question will a custom burned chip solve idling problems if i run a hardcore cam?

I think so best way is to call the company that your intrested in and talk to a represtative and see what they say but i'm pretty sure it will. You can also buy a tweeker and program your computer your self here's their link www.tweecer.com pricy tho plus you need a lab top too. just a thought.

alot of us have aftermarket cams, and the stock computers. i would think that most of us haven't switched, at least none that i know of. i don't think that its a big issue. spend the money for the cam and a dyno tune rather than a computer change
