hello, is there a way i can test my tps and would it make the car do this.
it runs steady when barely pushing the gas but as soon as the pedal gets to a certain position, the car starts cutting out very histerically. can i clean the tps and get any results.

I don't think you can clean it cause you'd have to somehow open it up. The way to check it is take an ohmmeter and slowly turn it. If there is a jump in resistance at a certain spot then its bad, otherwise it should steadily rise as you move it.

Its on the side and its basically just a potentiometer, just another electronic component that can go bad after lots of use.

20K if it has a setting for it, but its gotta be in the double digit thousands cause I think its supposed to go up to 14kish or so if I remember the Chiltons manual right.
