I bought my 07 GT manual used a few weeks ago and I love it!!

At one point before I bought it, the mufflers were replaced with Ford OEM mufflers with part number FI-7991. I read that these are the mufflers for an automatic, and they are the same mufflers used on the GT500.

Can someone here confirm if this is true?

If I want a slightly louder exhaust, would the stock mufflers from a manual GT (FI-7849) be louder than what I have now?

If you want to keep it OEM but slightly louder the mufflers from an 08 BULLITT are what you're looking for.

hi-not trying to sound like a jerk but why replace stock mufflers with more stock mufflers? it would probably be cheaper to buy a couple of flowmasters or magnaflows and have them installed. your car will breath easier , sound better , they are lighter and will give you a little more power. just my opinion. have a good one.

The Ford FRPP GTA mufflers are a good choice for just a bit more volume at a reasonable cost without any drone.

I am replacing the factory mufflers on my 06 GT with the factory mufflers off of my dad's 09 GT500. The part number on the bottom of the GT500 mufflers is, in fact, 7991.

The GT500 mufflers actually sound really good with an off road x-pipe, and the aftermarket mufflers don't really make much more power than the GT500 mufflers. The GT500 mufflers make about the same amount of power as the racier mufflers without the raspy obnoxious sound. Win-win.
