what are the dimensions of the two little speakers on the dash and the 2 in the rear(hatch).

Also Purple/blue and Green/orange... which is + and -?

I've never messed with my Hatch speakers but I'm sure there the same size as the coupes. Now the size is 6x8 but its like real hard to find that size but the 6x7 bolts right in no problems. I payed like 36.00 for mine new but was bought and returned from some one else. They work WAY better than what I did have. The front dash speakers I used 3 1/2" 2 ways and these cost like 57.00 new. If you don't want any bass out of the dash speakers attach a 100 ohm resistor to the poles. The speakers should come with one and instructions. Now I'm not sure on your year of car but I had to use the adaptors to use a aftermarket dash speaker. These can be bought at Best Buy for like 3-5 bux each and are way to easy to install. I can't help you on which wire is which since I had Best Buy rewire a lot of screwed up wireing from the preivious owner. I hope all my crap helps you out and good luck :nice:

Are you sure thats correct? Its been years since my MECP training but i dont recall ever using 100 Ohm resistor. Seems like a 100 Ohm would overwealm the deck that is designed for 4 ohm speakers. What is really needed is a Bass blocker, or better yet a crossover. If you have Premium sound in your car it should already be wired for the dash (tweeter) and door (woofer) configuration.

P.S. As for the wire colors, Just get a Ford speaker harness from best buy. Its well worth it and insures you system stays in Phase.

I'm just going by a few things: A guy off TF who does this kinda stuff and the two 50v 100uf Bipolar resistor looking things my speakers came with. Now my instructions don't mention anything about them or how to install them. But I have to believe this guy on TF because he helped to unravel my cars issuses that Best Buy techs couldn't figure out. I know what you will say, them guys sux but I've known the guy installing my stuff for 10 years. I never let people touch my car if I don't trust them ;) The best thing for red89lxstang to do is ask about this when he desides to buy dash speakers.

I have Kenwood 4"s in my dash. They will fit, you just have to take a little time and make some mods. The speaker magnet was too deep and it was hitting the vent. If you have a heat gun, then you can just heat up the vents and they should mould easily so that the speaker will fit in. Also, you may need to make some adjustments to the mounting lip of the speaker itself and you wont be able to secure it with all four bolts. I just used three. But yes, 4"s will work and they will give much better sound than the stock 3.5"'s. The door speakers in my case were were 6.5"s. This is just a direct fit. And, mine being a coupe, the rear speakers were 6x8", but you can easily buy an adapter for about $10 so that 6x9"s will fit. This will also give you a little better sound. I'm not postive on the coupes, but I'd imagine the front four are the same, and to my best knowledge, the rear speakers are 5x7"s. Hope some of this helps to answer your question.

I feel ya :( I had to replace everything on my car it sux butt bad. The radio I was using was not even the stocker but some Raod Master with the old style tunner knob. It got so bad that I had to drive with one hand on the radio adjusting it so I could pick up a station :bang: It was missing the rear speakers and the front dash ones was the old perimum stockers. I said to hell with it and bought all new speakers and a XFM radio/tunner :nice: I want ever go back to normal radio again

How is that? My deck has XM built in, (just needs a decoder box) But i am not sure if i would like it or not. I have flipped through the Sirrius Stations on a guys radio before and didnt find anything that really stood out more than local FM Sure XM doesnt have commercials, but im still not sure im sold. Plus i have to pay a montly fee for EACH car which i think is BS. Is it really worth the cash?

Maybe its a decoder box  I'm not really sure on this stuff. Its like 1" think, 9" wide and 9" long. It mounts in the trunk area or under a seat if you got a hatch.

I really don't get in to radios and banging my head around like I use to. I just want to put her on a decent station and drive :nice: Anyways it got to the point I could drive 4-5 miles before I could hear a song which sucked since I would drive 12.7 miles one way to work. Then they started all this Adult book store adds at night that I had to listen to all the way home. Now days you hear that crap all day long and those Viagra want-a-be commercails like crasy. The breaking point for me is when I was taking my niece home from helping her work on a Science project. I'm 29 almost 30 and shes 12 years old. Shes likes music a lot so I got the radio up loud jamming down the road ( she lives 12-15 miles from me) and on comes these damn "you can have better SEX with this pill" commercail  It was just a embassing deal to have going on with her in the car. So I said screw this and got XFM. I already needed a new system since mine was falling a part around my ears. Now I can tune in stations like the 80's which isn't full of drug/sex songs and not worry to much about what my own son hears. :nice: I also have almost zero commercail free radio listening, just a few station has commercails and they are usualy quick and don't take up 10 minutes of my time :D
