My cd player went out so i figured i would try to convert over to the 01-04 double din unit if its possible without much hassle. im not very electrically inclined. thank ya for any help
I've never dealt with the stock head unit. When I bought my '02 it had an aftermarket unit, but I assume that the two should have the same wire harness. If it does it will work no doubt
the 2001+ is the single 6-disk changer setup. It will require physical changes to the center console to mount it as well as wiring changes since only the speakers are the same. You'd need to aquire the amps and wiring as well.

It's really just easier to buy an aftermarket sound system because once they changed the radio set up everything changed from the console to the position of the fog light/rear defrost switches. It is alot of trouble and I would just advise getting an aftermarket unit.
