Running a 3200-3300 pound car (316hp/345tq), can you run solid 12's on 17's sporting BFG Dr's? Or is the wheel diameter going to be an issue? Rear end sports a 3.73 gear set and the car is a 5spd. I would run a smaller wheel and stickier tire, but I am following the run it as you drive it mentality and look to see what she can do. One limiting factor for the track day I know will be the tired trackloc...but time does not permit a rebuild prior to our track date.

You've got the power to do it, if it can hook which it should with drag radials even on 17s should light a 12 up on the board. How deep I dunno, but I'm very interested in knowing since I'm considering those heads.

im still wondering how 25thmustang runs the times he does with as lil power as he does. do you way 110 lbs bro? j/k your car runs the times that people build h/c/i cars for. i jus dont get it. your mph is even high, which indicates high horsepower normally. id say with 316 horsepower and 345 torque, drag radials and awesome driving a 12.3 is very possible.

I weighed 187 last time I was on the scales...

Also our 295 rwhp car (granted that was in 95+ degree muggy weather) ran 12.00 @ 111 at a crappy track. Look for some 11.8s out of a sub 300 rwhp fox (3000 - 3050 weight).

The worn tloc isnt going to help. I went from 13.1-13.2 to 13.4s when my was worn but I was also on ET Streets which hooked better. Id be willing to bet your going to suffer a little more being on a radial.

There's an article in one of my mustang mag's (i'll get the issue # later) but they have an '83 that runs 11.9s with 300 at the wheels. Granted, this car is gutted and weighs around 3k but still, that's pretty damn good for only 300hp. Every 10th faster you go takes that much more to run, and it gets harder and harder to make up those 10ths as you get faster. It's not as much about how much power you have as it is how well you use it.

Ours isnt gutted, weighs 3000 or so, and will be in the 11s (might even hit 11.8s in good air) and made mid 290s to the tire. Another friend made 298 and has been 11.98 (last event I went 12.00 he went 12.25). It is ALL about traction and getting the car down the track as fast as possible!

ive been 12.74 at 107 on my 245/45/17 street tires and 4.10's but that was a one time deal the norm was 12.8 and 9's

i recently put in some 3.27 gears and on the same street tires went 12.90 at 106.8

have no idea what the combo puts out but i know its not over the 300hp mark and the car weights 3250 with me in it
