my car has cruise controll. i was told you can use it with a t-5 if the t-5 has the cruise speed sensor on it, which i believe goes into the top cover.
i was looking at a picture of a t-5-z which i've been considering going with but i notice there doesn't look to be a place on it for this cruise speed sensor. whats the deal with this?

The cruse control sensor (VSS sensor) plugs into the driver's side of the transmission tailshaft housing. It is what carries the speedo pickup gear.

The same sensor fits all model T5's and Tremec 3550 & TKO's.

ok so my existing one from my aod will just plug in??? ok whats that sensor i see on some of the t-5's commingout of the top of it....comming like out of the top cover area, a wire with a connecter about 7 inches long?? is that for the back up lights....then theres the little plug with the 2 posts on the side, neutral safety??
i got confused because someone told me there was a special cruise sensor for the t-5......apparently thats not the case.....

The sensor on the top case is the neutral safety switch.

The one on the side of the case with the 2 posts sticking out is the backup light switch.
