Cancel Warranty?

I have a Bullitt mustang. It has almost 31,000 miles. I haven't done any mods yet, but have an x-pipe and magnapack cat-back going on this weekend. I plan on doing other mods but may go with a supercharger first. While reading over my warranty papers, I came across where it talks about mods. Keep in mind that this is not a Ford warranty. Anyway, it says:

What this aggreement does not cover...

A breakdown caused by or involving modifications unless those modifications were performed by the manufacturer.

I take it as if Ford didn't do it then it's not covered. I can cancel the warranty with a full refund less $30 admin fee if I do so within 90 days which I have only had the car for a little over a month.

What are everyones opinions? I can definitly use the $1400 for the supercharger if I cancel!!

Wait a minute...they GIVE you $1,400 if you cancel? Well if that's the case, then hell yes. You only have 5,000 miles left on your warrenty anyway. (Assuming you have the 3 year/36,000 mile)

edit: nevermind. How long is the warrenty? If it's like 70,000 or 100,000 I might keep it. But if modding your car is more important to you, don't be scared to cancel it.

Let's see...

I have all the parts that could potentialy void the warranty in front of me..
If my car breaks down.. those mods could prevent the warranty to be covered..

I say go with teh blower!

But still, it got me thinking.. what if you bring all the parts for FORD (the manufacturer of the vehicle) to install (modify) your car with those parts? Would your warranty be intact?

Here's the quote again

I bought a 4 year 48,000 mile warranty above what was left on the factory warranty. So the warranty lasts until 2008 or 78,000 miles. If I cancel I get a full refund minus the $30 admin fee....

I believe that they mean any modifications not done at the factory before sale of the car.

Screw the warranty once you put a blower on its going to void your powertrain and just about everything expensive to replace on your vehicle. Take the $1400 and run.

I have to deal with those aftermarket warranty companys almost daily. They will try anything to get out of covering a repair. If something big breaks and you try to claim it, they'll send an inspector to investigate and he/she will be looking for evidence of abuse, lack of care or modifications. They love taking your money but they hate dishing it out.

Toss the warranty and save the cash.

Do it! I think the cancelled warranty warrants a supercharger
