canister purge sensor

My ses light came on with the po443 EVAP canister purge control solenoid or valve faulty. I changed the valve under the passenger front fender but after resetting the ecu, the light immediately came back on. I was told that the folks at ford change that valve and the sensor at the same time but I was just wondering if anyone else had the same issue.

was the code KOEO, KOER or Continuous??

is this for a California or Federal car??

check for 12v at the Purge Valve with key ON. if 12v

check resistance of Purge Valve should be 30 - 90 Ohms, if California 30-38 Ohms when cold

the purge valve is a small canister simular to a roll of quarters

this is not a California car. I changed what ford calls the purge solenoid and the purge valve but I am still getting the ses light. I am wondering if removing the fuse for the ecu memory is enough to reset the computer or if I need to have the code reset by a mechanic with the scan tool.

most code readers can clear codes as well. ask autozone(if you don't have a reader/scanner) to read the code(make sure it isn't a new code) and if they would clear the codes.
