Canned tune vs. custom dyno run with a CAI

hey all,

I'm looking to buy a CAI soon, still not sure which one. I have to reread all the threads I think.

I'm curious about tuning. Will I see a big change in the performance of the car with a custom dyno pull vs. a canned tune from say bamachips etc.? I only plan on adding a CAI at this point. I will definately be custom tuning in the future when I add more parts.

Second question..... do any of the tuners (SCT/diablo) offer support for Apple users? I no longer have a PC.... will I not be able to load custom tunes or make changes myself?

A custom tune is worth a few extra ponies. Tuner needs to be on the dyno and know how to tune an 05 though. 05's are quite a bit different. Im pretty sure you would need a PC to get email tunes.

I'm not 100% sure, but I've never seen SCT software for the Mac, just Windows.

A custom tune, even if its just a few ponies extra, is much better over sticking with the canned tune. You can tailor the computer to your driving style and your needs.

Dougs tunes are pretty hot!! I was running a tune from a local dyno, but Doug sent me a tune that absolutely rocks! It is so much more responsive with his tune.
