Cant anyone help me out?re:charging system

Ok I figured out how to get some pics up. Heres my problem. My battery is getting drained so Ive removed my alternator and had it checked at autozone and they said its good.So I replaced my voltage regulator.Still have no luck.Ive checked the wires out and they seem good(yeah i checked it with a DVOM).Im not quite sure about how to wire up my alt though. The post on the alt are labeled BAT GRD FLD STA.I know that the black and red wire goes to the ground. I dont know exactly where the white w/ blk stripe and solid whit wire go to on the alt.heres a pic of the alt.Can anyone take a look at there alt or tell me where to hook these up at?

The smaller blk/wht wire, usually a 14 gauge, is most likely the field.
remove the field wire at the regulator, and do a continuity check to verify.
The stator wire can be verified in the same manner. Also usually a 14 gauge wire.

I know it's too late now, but learn from this lesson. Next time either take a before picture so you know how things go back, or label all your wires before disconnecting.

BTW, have you verified the battery yet? I had chased a problem for some time last year, even replaced the starter motor (which thankfully I needed anyway), alternator and some other cheap items figuring there was no way in hell that my less than 1 year old battery was the casue for the drain, but it was.

Battery (Black/Yellow*)- goes to battery post on starter solenoid. This is the output 14.7 volt source for charging the battery and running your car.

Ground (Black) - goes to ground on engine. This provides the reference for other electrical points on your car and engine. Make sure there's a good ground also between engine and car body.

Field (White^) - Goes to regulator. If the field current goes up, the voltage output of the alternator goes up. If the field current goes down, the voltage output of the alternator goes down. In this manner the output voltage of the alternator is regulated (held to one voltage...14.7 volts).

Stator (White/Black^) - Used on cars with idiot light ALT indicators on dashboard. NOT used on cars with AMMETER. Connects to the "S" terminal of the regulator. This point is the common connection between the windings of the alternators stator. Normally, the common connection has no current and hence no voltage exists on this terminal. If a diode shorts or an unbalance of current occurs in the alternators stator windings (as might occur if the alternator is straining too hard) then a current develops. This current in-turn energizes a current sensitive relay in the regulator (and in turn turns on the ALT idiot light).

* Goes to starter solenoid B+ terminal. Yellow wire goes from B+ terminal to regulator "A" terminal.

^ Goes to regulator. Field goes to Field, Stator goes to Stator.

well i figured out what it is. I dont have any wire running from my battery to the alt. Im gonna make one and install it tomorrow and Im sure thats gotta be it.
-I would have made a diagram of the alt or took a pic of the car before the motor was pulled but I wasnt the one who pulled it. I bought it from a friend of a friend with the motor out of it.Thanks guys/gals.
