I took my coupe up to a cruise night last Wed and I was the only fox out of around 150 cars. People could not believe the shape of how clean it was all around and I had four people tell me that no matter what happens not to sell it.

If I were going to buy a Fox, I'd find one that was done. I've seen plenty of cars that have 25G invested in them selling for as low as 12-14 so that the person could put some money down on a house. Think of how much ahead of the game you would be.

Or you could buy a fox, dump more money into than its worth and lose most if it when you go to sell it in a few years. Ten to fifteen years ago it was worth buying a stocker to build because plenty were to be had. Now adays, if I found a low mileage stocker, I certainly wouldn't want to tear it apart, rather to preserve it, as most low mileage stock foxes sell for the most $$ and retain their value. There's just something about a clean-virgin fox that draws the crowds these days.

However, resto-mod foxes are starting to catch on, but you will pay more for them.

You are high!

If I get serious about that car (the gray Notch) would you be willing to go check it out? Its in your neck of the woods.

Here is another one I found that I love.

See, I could see spending 3-5K on a really clean Fox and then I would drop another 4k in H/C/I and suspension but I would pefer to spend the same ammount on a clean Fox with all those mods plus usually a 5-lug disc brake conversion. It seems like they are priced right then.

That car is gone.

I kinda like the idea of getting a sub 4K version like Dave found and slap the exact parts I want on it like AFR 185's, custom cam, Edlebrock II intake, 3.55s and a bunch of MM goodies with the Eibach Pro suspension kit, 3g, electric cooling fan, Centerforce DFX.... actually thats about 8 grand there and will still have the crappy Fox brakes.

See, if I were to get an already-modified Fox, I'd just buy a car from one of my friends. That way you at least know the car's background. I had a buddy with a nitrous'd black on black coupe, and he used to always offer to sell it to me. I never had the money then, but if I had, I would have bought it. He beat the holy mother ****ing dog **** out of that car, but at least I was there to see what he broke and how he fixed it. Any car that's already been modded is going to have a history of abuse.

*reminiscing*
I still remember those 1-2 shifts where he'd lean forward and yank it back as hard as he could hahahahaha. Waaaahhhhhh-KRACK-waaaahhhhhhHHHH

I've been drinking.

The most I would ever go is 10K

After doing much reserch I see 6-8K can get me a very nice 96-98 Cobra. The 96-98s are my favorite Mustangs made and I actually miss my 96 more then my 03.
I see several great deals by where I am moving to. A few Mystics for under 8 grand and even a very sweet Laser Red 96 for under 5K

Mystics are pretty, but dude, if you go getting the paint touched up every time you find a chip or scratch like you were with your last Cobra, you'll be spending a fortune on nothing but paint. I'd just stick with the Laser Red or black Cobras, if you're gonna go that route. They look good, and any bodywork you have done for upgrades or fixes won't leave you broke.

just gotta keep your eyes open i looked for more than 6 months for mine. you need to target older people that have them in the country they take care of their things, keep your eyes open and check places that they would list them like newspapers, ect. and keep an eye on ebay, craigslist, autotrader,cars.com, ect.. one will turn up.

Thanks Doc but with what I have seen is avaliable yours is worth 7K max cause I knows it has issues.
Also I would never get a carbd car that started as a fuel injected car. That 333 is nice but thats has always been something thats buged when people do that. And if its a 4-eye it will only be a t-top.

But I have made up my mind, Aero Cobras are my favorite and thats what I really want. People have suggested to get something that I would love to own and work on for years as opposed to something I may sell off soon cause I got bored with it. I loved my Aero more then my Termi. Yeah the Termi was faster and OTHERS liked it more but that red Cobra was my baby that I built myself and I want another bone stock one and make it how I want it.

Want!!
