Sorry for bringing this old thread back to life, but does anyone know if it would be possible to simply cap the thermactor line from the head?
To be clear, I do not want to plug the heads. I want to keep the thermactor tubes attached, but cap them off at the end of the line (above the headers)

Yes. That’s how I did mine for the sake of doing it quickly. I left a short peice of air tube connected to the check valve and found a short peice of bar stock that fit perfectly inside and clamped it off.

Left it this way for years until I pulled the motor for HCI and finally removed it.

I could have removed it from the heads, but fortunately I didn’t because I ended up putting the cats back on and needed the pipe. By that point however one side clogged up so I always got a code for it.

Yep, its the lazy way of doing it, owned many cars that just had a peice of high temp hose and bolt or wheel stud worm clamped in it.

On my first configuration I had a damaged nut on the end of that cross over tube (above the header) and just welded it shut.

Just remove the piece I’m pointing to, and find a brass cap at the hardware store of the same thread. Easiest way!
