Car Alarm Trick

The only time I have locked my keys in my car was when I had my cobra.I had a laundry basket in the pass. seat and when the door shut, it tipped onto the power doorlock button.So, with spare remote in hand, I had to rock the car back and forth to tip the basket over.I had to time it just right between rocking the car, hitting the button, and pulling on the handle.Luckily no one was watching

good one... the only time i ever locked my keys in my car was the first time i got gas after getting the alarm put it.. it had the damn passive arm.. that 60 seconds after you shut the car off... i'm standing there pumping gas.. it goes beep.. and locks the doors.. then i looked like this

Dont newer cars use infrared to communicate with the car?
Most cell phones have infrared ports too, many are even blue tooth compatible...

I dont see why you couldnt transfer the infrared signal across phones. Just need simple software on the phone to recognize the infrared signal from the key and to save it as a file that can be played back thru infrared.

Why would they change to IR for a remote? I've never heard of that. IR is line of sight, it sucks.

i can just see it now. Somone drives out a few miles in the middle of nowhere, gets out of the car, locks the doors, and throws the keys in the car, calls someone on the cell to have them unlock it back in civilization.

Sorry, didn't mean to hack your post apart, but it just starts off bad and get's worse from there. Look, anything is possible, and, as I stated earlier, the technology is available, there is simply no market for this solution. (at least not yet....never say never)

When I got my Visor (a Palm clone) 5-6 years ago, it had programs that let you record IR signals. It was real handy to use as a remote control. Very simple program.

But RF signals...

I know of only 1 way that you can get your car unlocked using a cell phone. That's when you have a car equipped with OnStar.
