Hey everybody, what type of car alarms are you guys using? What type of features are the best? I know nothing about alarms but need something to keep my car safe. Cost isn't really a factor but it has to be something that I can find in Saskatchewan. That being said, where would be a good place to get an alarm?

Thanks in advance,
Kyle

Yeah that is what the Clifford has too.

Except you can add a GPS locator, it has a car starter, like 5 or 6 channels to roll the windows up or down, open the trunk ect.

It looks like a cool alarm.

Thanks for the replies guys. Someone else has told me about the Viper 690WV and it seems like a good choice. Has anybody else used it? Also, does Future Shop have to install it or can I just do it myself? I've also heard some good things about the Clifford as well though. The two-way system might be the best for me.

I'm pretty sure that we have to install them. But our installers are awesome.

I have the Viper671XV 2-way alarm only, with LED remote. I went with Viper cause, well they're the biggest and the best in my opinion(they bought out CLifford about 2 years ago). I like the idea of the LED remote cause I've seen alot of LCD type remotes come back with busted displays. I installed the system myself(keep in mind I'm an MECP certified installer and have worked professionally in Car Audio for about 8-9 years). There's alot of "weird" wiring when you start getting into window control, trunk release, locks, etc so I'd say get it done by a pro if you're not sure. Melfort is kinda close to Yorkton isn't it? There's a couple places in Yorkton that could do it for ya. As for where to buy it,well.......I'm a little biased(I work at Vision's in Regina). If you're ever here and just want to buy the alarm I can guarantee you a great price.Or if you want to book an install yada yada yada, call me at the store 585-7711.

And the Visions, Future Shop debate begins! :D We have the lowest price guarantee so we'll beat any price by 110% of the difference! ;) That's all I'm gonna say about the Future Shop, Vision debate. It's totally up to you about where you buy.

But 10 mpg HOLY crap!

Thanks guys. Looks like I might have to make a trip to Regina after all. After seeing all of the Mustangs there last week it seems like a good place to go. I'm not sure where to buy from but I'm a couple months away from needing an alarm yet anyway.
