Just curious if a 70mm TB is worth it on an all stock motored 5.0. I have the stock replacement K&n filter on the car. Plans down the road are H/C/I. But this will be a while. I have 3.73 gears and Warlock mufflers..otherwise all stock. Is and upgraded MAF sensor better to get at this point or the TB? Suggestions????

with a stock manifold and heads and cam i would not go to a 70mm. concentrate on other areas of your car for now example: subframes, suspension, stall converter, shift kit.....then once you get your H/C/I then do the TB.....dont worry about upgrading you MAF until you get more air flowing.....

I agree with this. You might pick up a little power from a MAF on a stock engine, but still I would concentrate on other areas like jaided said.

got into some other bolt ons like headers, and an h-pipe or pullies or the stuff the others are saying. It's money better spent for you now, besides 70mm is way too big. I changed mine to a TB that has been bored out to 65mm, I had to port match the intake to fit it, but I only did that and the mass air meter after the port work on the heads and intake were done.

Not worth putting on the TB unless you are at least swapping the intake. Like others said, the money would probably be better spent at least putting a shift kit in your AOD, or putting it into subframe connectors.

phloBus nailed it - if you want to upgrade something that will make a difference - go ahead and do your intake. The stock lower intake is the biggest restriction in the intake tract. Bigger throttle bodies and mafs do little unless you clear out the downstream restriction - the stock lower.

I agree with Michael on this one. I know from experience. The lower intake is the culprit. Then I would concentrate on the Mass-Air. The TB will not net you much of anything right now.

:OT: Mike, How's the fiberglassing comming along?
