I took my vehicle to a mechanic who fixed my fuel pump after my car was randomly shutting off while driving. That didn't fix the issue so then he put in a new relay. That didn't fix the issue and now he says he is going to have to install a new computer. He said it 1,000% isn't the spark plugs although I have 108,000 miles on them. How can he be certain they aren't the spark plugs? Is it because of the error code? I just don't want to throw in money when the actual problem isn't being fixed... Also after the engine stops, it doesn't turn back on right away. I have to wait like 30 seconds - 2 minutes for it to start back up otherwise it would just be cranking (I have a 2006 Mustang GT)

It sounds like you need to find a different mechanic who actually performs diagnostics instead of just throwing parts at the problem while you're paying.
Bad spark plugs will cause a misfire and possibly difficult starting but not random stalling of the engine.
What fault codes are you getting?
You might want to invest in an ELM 327 Bluetooth OBD 2 scanner that plugs into the port under the dash. Download the Car Scanner app onto your smartphone, pair it to the ELM, and use it to display and record live data. Then you'll be able to properly troubleshoot the problem and save yourself a pile of cash.

I agree with Bullitt95. Sounds like your mechanic doesn't really know enough to troubleshoot. B95 is right, spark plugs won't all 8 quit at once. But by now they should be changed. And you probably don't want your current mechanic to do that. Those plugs need to be eased out so they don't break in the car. Torque is a great app to use with the ELM327 B95 mentions if you have an Android phone.

if the car only does it for 30 secs-2 min then thats all the time the mechanic has to diagnose it.....he kinda has to guess in this case. Assuming its not setting any useful codes.

Ya, its def. Not the sparkplugs by themselves per say. But it is either a fuel or spark issue. I know nothing about 06 so have nothing to offer. GL.
