Ya know how the book value for our foxes is like 2500 dollars...well i put about 6000 grand worth of work into mine already..and will be more...and the car is really nice to add to that...so i would really like to cover this thing for full insurance for like 8 or 10 Grand at least...My insurance company now...including some that ive called around...Will not do a custom insurance for me...its freaking stupid..they will only cover it for book value..which theres no way in hell i can cover it for 2500 f***ing dollars...if i wrecked i would looose so much f**ing money and time!... so...whats the answer to this...i KNOW that you guys have to have some way to cover it for what u want...any good companys that will do this for me?? I'm going to try calling Grundy Classic Car insurance..anyone have it?? help me out!

i only have comp on mine cause i got a dwi and cant afford full. 130 a month for anything i drive but my parents have rediculously low insurance rates cause they have a house cabin snowmobiles 4 cars 4 wheelers life and whatever else they insure around here so id try makin a deal with them switchin all your stuff to 1 company(i dont know how old you are and what you own) but also you can get your car appraised and whatever that appraisal value is you should be able to find a company to cover it for that. just dont expect a low monthly payment

One, get a written appraisal done on the vehicle (and every time you finish a major project like bodywork, suspension, engine, etc.). You have to look for someone who specializes in sports cars, classics, and such...not your local dealership appraiser. Be prepared to have all your proof of value, receipts, pictures, etc. This will run you $75-100.

Two, your best bet is obtaining a "classic car" policy. Now, some insurance companies will say it's a "late model" and not want to do it initially, but you can get these policies, especially if you can prove that it is not a daily driver, has significant mods, etc. State Farm Insurance Co. also offers these. Check on some of the classic car sites for links to other insurance companies.

You can get agreed value coverage with the collector car type insurance (like Grundy), but you must:

1) Store the car in a locked, completely enclosed garage.
2) Have another car that you use as a daily driver.

Good luck,

I might look into that. My current insurance ends April 9th and I might want to try this.

I have Hartford insurance now, which is through Omni group, pretty good so far, much lower than progressive, but I want something better for my baby.

man what the fu ck....i called grundy and rest of these classic car insurance places only cover 25/26 years old and over...and im only 20....I know u guys get ur car covered somehow out there??! how do u do it!!? i cant cover it for just book value its too damn low! my insurance agency now(state farm) wont cover it for what i want, and they cant cover it for a classic cause it needs to be 15 years old and its only 14!

ahh i cant do that...she said if your under 25 you CANNOT drive any of the vehicles insuranced..whether under anyones name..it focking sucks...its stupid...how the fu ck do ppl do this...i cant find insurance companys that will cover me for what i want to cover it for..
