Ok, My car devoloped a thing where it would keep trying to start itself until I let out the clutch to kill it. It did it one day then did it a week later. So I replaced the starter solenoid yesterday. The starter is only 2 months old and the battery is about 3 months old. Now I drove the car all fine and dandy yesterday after I replaced the starter solenoid and it was perfect. Then I come out this morning and the car just clicks like it has a dead battery. So I hook up a charger and try to crank it, it just clicks. So I give it a while to charge and then try to start it and it clicks so I hold the key forward and it starts making a matrix sound either out of the speakers or the dash and all the lights turned off. Then I took the key and and was getting ready to get out of the car and it started trying to start itself with no key in it there was no way it was going to start so I ran to the trunk and disconnected the neg battery cable. The battery cables where extremely hot so I let them cool and reconnected them and then thought what the hell I will try and start it and then I get it and it just clicks! LoL.. So I am lost I was thinking about picking up and ignition switch and installing it. My question is would an ignition switch cause this? If not what else can it be?

Sorry about the long post just never had this happen before.
Thanks!

I have checked ground and all. heres the update. The car just clicks while turned on by the key but with the key on run and me jumping the starter solenoid it starts. Ignition switch? Did I get a bad starter solenoid? Or one thing that was suggested to me was the tumbler since the car tried to start itself with out the key in it.

well just in case anyone else has this problem it was the ignition switch that was bad and made the car try to start itself without the key in it. but in the process of turning over soo much it fried my new solenoid so I replaced that also and now it is back to normal!
