Car runs like crap

While driving today my I was stopped at a light, went to hit the gas, and the car almost stalled. It seemed to load up with fuel (got bogged down) and then after a few seconds of backfiring took off.

All the way home the only way that I could accelerate would be to either barely touch the gas, hammer it, or push in the clutch, rev the engine and let the clutch out. Under a load it is absolutely dead.

Is this a fuel pump issue? Anyone have similar symptoms or ideas?

My 4 cyl did something similar when the egr pipe was cracked.

I don't know it that is your problem though.

Do you get any computer codes?

ya sounds like it could very possibly be the egr valve it can cause that easy. that thing can get clogged up, sensor can get loose or whatever, if you ask me that system is just a piece of *****. i just fixed mine today it was doing all kinds of nutty stuff. bucking, rough idle, engine light, one time it would start and then just die immediately. make sure the sensor on top isnt leaking air otherwise youll just have a vacuum leak and it wont even work. and if its clogged with carbon build up just blow it out with carb cleaner.
