car runs realy bad after hosing down engine

So maybe this wasent the best idea but I sprayed my engine down with degresser and ran it over with a hose. Now when I start my car it bearly drives, it runs like its on 2 cylinders or something. Im guessing either I got alittle bit of water in my intake, or the module on the distributor got wet, would either of these cause that? Itll run alright for a little but then when I get to 3krpm it has NOOOO power at all, and itll pop a few times, kind of like the timing is wayyyyy off, the car idles fine, and when its sitting and I rev it up itll hesitate at first but I can rev it up no problem, should I let the car just idle for a while to let everything dry off? Reset the computer??? any ideas?

the dizzy is wey.. take off the cap and spray WD40 inside and then fire it up. Or leave it and it will dry over time.....

ha this is rather embarrassing, a mod can delete this if theyd like, I opened my dizzy cap and all the leads to the spark plug wires were wet and there was moisture in there, guys I know not to do that again.

ive done the same too, it took mine like 5-6 hours to finally run correctly again, i just let it dry normally.

I did this on my 65 ranchero with a 289 when I was 16. kind of funny at the time as I knew little about cars still and thought I blew the motor.
