car shaking like mad

Lately my cars been shaking a little bit, it would just happen at random times. Now its shaking a lot, feels like a huge vibration coming from the rear. Should I just jack up the rear and see if there is a lot of play in the driveshaft/u joints? Anything else I should look in to? thanks

I would check the motor mounts , then the driveshaft......and it could be tire balancing but that is usually just at a certain speed not at random although i could be wrong
