Ran a KOER test today with my Equus 3145 scanner. Code 31 had come back during KOEO after I set base idle and then I ran KOER and first weird thing, it indicated 6 cylinders... that worried me to hell but I kept going with the test, got codes 94 and 44 which are normal since I have the thermactor holes plugged, and then I did a cylinder balance test in which it said cylinders 7 and 6 were not contributing equally. Could this have anything to do with it reading only 6 cylinders in the first place? Has this happened to anybody?

A little background: Before I had installed my GT40 intake, I accidentally spilled water on the driver side of the engine. With the car on I could see a blue spark from #7. So, I pulled all the wires and plugs on the driver side, blew out the inside with compressed air, and replaced all 4 spark plugs on the driver side side, gapped to .54 or whatever the proper gap is, cant remember. In a previous test, I had also gotten a weak #7 cylinder code, and upon inspection, I pushed the #7 wire at the distributor and it clicked a little, I guess it was loose. Hadn't checked again until now.

What steps should I take from here to figure out the problem? Thanks!

Showing 6 cyl is common. Ignore it for now.

Focus on cyl 6 and 7 being weak though.

Well, usually you run the CBT 3 or 4 times in a row. The number of times 6 & 7 come up indicate how bad the misfire is.

Then, it's either plugs, wires, injectors or a bad head gasket causing a leak between the cylinders. 6&7 could also be the injector plugs being messed up.

Check spark fire, pull the plugs and inspect. Also if you have a compression gauge, doa test and see if the compression numbers are good on that head.

if this all checks out, then try swapping or replacing those two injectors

The CBT is a useful test and helped me determine my #4 injector was completely dead

cool, will do. I hope its not a head gasket. I did those this summer and I've kept temperatures under control.

will check this stuff out soon. hopefully I can get it resolved soon. got new mods on the way.
