I have a 03 gt that is throwing a code. Its nothing serious just needs to be cleared, it only comes on after i take long distance trips.

My question is once the code is cleared can i go straight to emissions or does the computer need to do its cycle thing. My tags expired yesterday so it needs to be done soon.

Thanks
Josh

What code? Doesn't really matter as long as the MIL isn't on. If you have that "test cycle incomplete" code, just tell them you had the battery replaced recently.

They wont let you pass if the OBD II readiness test has not been completed.

I dont think there is a set amount of time or miles you need to driv efor the self test to be completed. You just need to drive the car around and then check to see if the system is ready.

thanks guys for the input. I think I'm gonna go to autozone and get them to see what the code is and clear it for me.
