So I am driving to work this morning and cruising in 3rd gear then all of a sudden it sputtered then died and I coasted to a stop. After getting safely on a side street I tried to diagnosis what was wrong. It will still spin but will not fire all the connections are good from what I can tell. Can you guys start listed possible scenarios on what is wrong.

It's either fuel or spark. Things to check:
  • Got gas?
  • Wiring on the coil - make sure nothing came off
  • Pull a plug and turn it over to see if you are getting spark
  • clogged fuel line
  • bad fuel pump

a good rule of thumb to check when an engine ont start/dies is check for the 3 things that an engine needs to run:

fuel, spark, and compression.

from there the problems can obviously be more serrious, but most commonly its just foul plugs, no fuel, or lack of compression.

I had something similar happen. Are you sure its not flooding? Pull a plug and check for spark. If thats ok, have someone crank it over and make sure the carb is getting fuel and not flooding the engine.
