Sometimes my car won't start.
I have fuel and spark (found that out painfully)
sometimes i can go for a few days and car will always start without a hiccup
sometimes car will crank and crank and crank and wont start, then randomly it will start just fine.
I heard something about a PIP
someone enlighten me

IF you have fuel pressure, spark and injector pulsing (at times when it acts up), I would ask if depressing the gas pedal about 1/4 of the way allows it to start. This would indicate a sticky IAC.

Does it tend to act up more when hot or cold (speaking about the ECT temps)?

pull the distributor cap off and look down inside. is there matel shavings in the bottom? this would indicate the dizzy is going out. mine did the same thing , took a while to figure it out and running out of options swaped the dizzy. prob solved

I dealt with that for a bit. Intermittent stall and sometimes wouldn't start. Code said PIP. Bought a new PIP (stator, it is the part that the rotor attaches to on the distributor) but could not get the old one off the distributor (stupid gear would not budge), so I bought a reman dist from AZ for about $80. Installed, set timing and all stall/start issues have disappeared since I replaced it 2 years ago.
