Car won't go in reverse :(

what trans do you have, stick or auto?

My car does this aswell kinda. I gotta put it in 5th and then SLAM it in to reverse. It doesn't always go in, and it ain't pretty, but I gotta keep doin it til it goes in. Some times I have to put it in the other gears like 1st, then to 5th then to reverse. Gotta go to 5th though so I can get enough speed built up to throw it in

Was easier with my stock shifter because I had more leverage. The pro 5.0 made it a bit more difficult.

Blood, that is somewhat normal (to your degree, i dont know). when putting it in another gear, it slows the cluster down, allowing engagement into reverse to go easier.

ok, automatic issues: tell more about the brake situation - you lost me on that. has the TV cable been adjusted lately? fluid level checked?

give more info - i originally thought it was known to be a trans issue, but with your newest post, i am not sure.

please dont take this the wrong way; i know all about not having fun money. but brakes are about as important as it gets. let alone that driving with no friction material left is gonna make a 30 dollar or less (in parts, pads or shoes) turn into much more when replacing rotors, drums, etc.

the clunking could even be your rear end shouting at you for having one side locked up - i dont know. i would address that first and then figure out the rest once that is done.

as i think Michael once said, (thoughts crudely paraphrased): beg or borrow money to get the brakes fixed. one simply cannot put it off.

i dont mean to come off like a jerk - you might save some money in the long run by not chewing up other parts (if it is not too late).

and of course, i would advice NOT DRIVING THE CAR UNTIL THE BRAKES ARE BACK TO 100%.
