Car Wont Go Into Park Or 1st Gear

My od/off light has been intermitly flashing then going off but now the light is flashing all of the time and now i have to manually shift the car or it tries to leave in third gear... Then today i get in the car and drive to the store then the car wont go into park or first gear now. The shift indicater only goes from reverse to 2nd. The shifter physically wont go into park or 1st.... any ideas?????

How many miles on the fluid? How many miles on the car? Is the fluid low? Be sure you check the fluid properly, off the top of my head I do not remember the procedure but there is a way to do it to get the most accurate reading...

I do. Start the car and drive it for around 10 miles. Get it hot. Let the car settle. Wait around 5 minutes for everything to drop down. Then take a reading.
