1990 Mustang
Funny thing, it will start and run when it's colder outside, about 40 degrees. I replaced the intake temp sensor. That didn't work. I have replaced the Coolant temp sensor. That didn't work. I have replaced the ignition module. That didnt' work. I have cleaned and inspected the "salt and pepper" shakers. I have replaced both O2 sensors. That made it run better, but it's still not running when you crank it for the first time, unless it's cold outside. It has an E cam. It runs and idles fine. It has an H pipe with no cats and flowmasters. BBK shorty headers. That's all the mods.
I think i have this car running right, and then this not starting when cold, unless it's cold thing comes in. Cleaning the salt and pepper connectord helped before. Maybe it's in the wiring somewhere, but I've checked all that with a meter.
The computer is seeing correct values from the coolant and intake sensors. Well, at least the harness right before the computer is seeing the correct values. Maybe the computer connector isn't working right.
Any ideas will be appreciated, ANYTHING!!!
p.s.- My other car that's in my profile was doing the same thing once. It was an O2 sensor that corrected the problem. I know that the computer doesn't look at the O2 sensors on start up, but that's what fixed the problem!
Thanks,
Jim
