Today was the first day i drove the car after the swap.. i have most necessary stuff connect except for sum vaccum lines.. so i started it and drove it the the muffler shop and what not.. and then stopped to get gas and it wouldnt start.. it dont seem like the battery bc my lights and power stuff worked but we tried jumpin it neways and it didnt work.. i tried a screw driver on both the soilnoids and that didnt work, we tried to push start it and that didnt work.. when i turn the key it turns over a lil, but theres a loud ass whining noise.. that i never heard befor.. i was thinkin its prolly my starter but then that noise throws me off.. Any help is apprecited..thanks

So you couldn't push start it, and it only turns over a little when you crank it? If your fuel pump was bad, it would still crank over just fine... if it was only your starter, you'd be able to push start it.

Are you sure your positive and negative battery connections and motor grounds are up to par? If one is insufficient, even a jump start wont help much. Resistance in wiring tends to go up with heat, so it might have started cold but not hot.

Good luck.

I agree 100%, this just happened with my friends car. Just clip the wires (as they could be messed up from corrosion) and put them back in. Also go to the wire at your starter (bottom right side) and take of the clip and rub it with some sand paper, the same where it bolts in.

the thing is it started up fine almost 10 times befor we stopped at the gas station.. it was hot and all.. and i dont think i connect everyground.. just a couple of them and the main ground of course.. btw the whine is in the front of the car.. o and both my battery cable are brand new!

Does the drive pinion of your starter make contact with the flywheel (the sound you describe sounds like it does when the starter free-wheels)?

Noise-wise that's about all I can think. Does the engine rotate at all (crank but no start)?
