Just put a 347 into a 94 GT and converted it from a auto to a tremec. We put in the manual cpu and tranny harness. When you turn the key the fuel pump will primer and it has fuel pressure and the starter will kick out but the car will not turn over. Do you think the starter could be bad kick out but not engage to turn the motor over? If the distributor was stabbed wrong could that be the problem? we check all the fuse and everything but Im still stump. Am I missing something?

What is the compression of this current motor? If it is higher then it could show that your starter or battery is weak. If it's too high then you might have to get a higher torque starter and a stronger battery. If it is kicking out then it's working but not turning the motor. If it turns and does not start then it could be your distributor but with it not turning at all I would look to the starter/battery first.

Well with it being around 10:1 compression a stock starter should turn it over just fine if it's in good shape and so is the battery.
