God Damn my luck!!!! Car wont start. Theres fuel pressure. Could it be the TFI Module??? I mean I got it used, 110* weather, and that time I made the distributer spark..... :bang: :bang:

If you have injector pulsing (even though you have no spark), that tells you that your PIP is ok.
If you have no spark and no injector pulsing, the PIP is a very good place to look.

You can use an LED if you have to. Just be sure the LED can handle 12 volts.

An LED test light would work too.

I dont wanna know about the tattoo.

Ok, I do. What are you getting done? :D

Im gonna get 2 faces of a Lion on my back. I have a pic on myspace of the lion I want. Their gonna cover most of my shoulders.

I just jump the led light to the wires on the injectors right???

Hey Hissin, would their be injector pulse with out the TFI Module on the car or the coil. I took them out, but i wanted to know if their would be pulse if I crank the engine.

When I first read that, I thought it said you were going to get two feces of a Lion. I was thinkin WTF is up with Guero. :rlaugh:

You do simply test across the two wires going to a given injector (like you'd test your battery except that it's an injector connector instead).

There should be NO pulse without a TFI. The signal goes from the PIP to the TFI, so no TFI = no injector pulsing. That's why there are rare occasions that the No inj pulsing, no spark = bad PIP test fails. I only recently started posting that it was a possibility because I'd never actually seen the scenario before. I now have once.

On your TFI module, Pin 6 is PIP power in. You could check that terminal if wanting to see if the PIP works.

Good luck bud.

How would I check Pin 6???

Ok So if the PIP is working, their is still a possibility that their will be no pulse if the TFI isn't working????

It's not worth bothering with testing Pin 6 at this point.

There is a chance that a bad TFI can keep the injectors from firing but it's so remote a chance that I would almost forget about it. I only mention it because there's a tiny chance that's the issue.

If your TFI is off the car now, just have it tested at the parts store and if it's ok but you have no spark or inj pulsing, figure the PIP is bad. Testing the PIP is a real PITA (I think you'd look for AC with an inverted vane/shutter signal).

I know you've done it but keep trying. A lot of times the kids who answer the phone don't know about something so their default reply is 'no'. An old timer at the store can often be of assistance. And to that end, sometimes it's cool to go into a good store (Napa, Merles, etc) and just ask an old timer. If they cannot do it, they sure know who can.

Or reinstall the TFI (you dont need the coil right now) and do your testing.

Good luck.

Well my I have 2 friends working at 2 different stores. They know what their doing. I bought the Module. I installed it. But my dumbass left the key since the last time I tried to start it. So i charged it, the car started right up and no more than 10 seconds later it shut of. It would start again!!!!!! :bang: :bang:

Guero, keep starting it till it shuts off and wont restart. Then check for injector pulsing while it cranks but will not actually start.

Good luck bud.
