Any rules of thumb to follow when modfying a stock motor related to carb jetting on an otherwise stock 84 5.0L with a factory 4V carb? If you switch from single exhaust to shorties, duals with high flow cat converters and mufflers should you step up the carb primary and secondary jetting? How much as a starting point?
I have made the exhaust mods and the car runs well and passes emissions test here in VA, although the exhaust smells metallic or dry if that makes sense. No detonation that I can hear. I will be rebuilding the factory Holley carb over the winter and figured I would address both primary and secondary jetting if it needed to be done. I have read the forums and understand that I should stick with a genuine Holley rebuild kit vs. aftermarket.
