Carb Noise...Hissing/Gurgling...

Almost all done with my Carb swap. Got all the fuel FINALLY Plumbed tonight. when i hit the key Fuel pressure jumps up to 6psi, then i can hear in the carb a gurgling/passing air noise (hissing). When I hit the throttle i see fuel going in the carb.

But what is this gurgling i hear? Fuel going in somewhere else?

This is my first time messing with a carb...been around a few buddies with them but all had mechanical pumps. So Key on there was no pressure.

Also...I have a return style FP regulator. Could this be the return fuel i'm hearing? and the noise is just coming through the Carb?

hmmm hissing while running is normal but gurgling??? hmmmmm check for leaks and make sure you are not over running the psi. carbed engines rarely need more the 6 to 9 psi.

In general you never need more than 7psi unless it's a nasty race engine or something. I've never heard of anything like this.
