My car has a edlebrock carb and intake, it has a spacer between the carb and intake, my problem is that the breather hits the hood, is this place needed?? It is about 1/2 inch thick, removing this would give me the clearance I need, the intake is a RPM Air Gap intake.

I've never had any luck with spacers...i would at least take it off and see how the car runs without it. I tried one with my Stealth and it killed the bottom end...just killed it. I've heard that a 4 hole spacer is better than an open spacer and effects bottom end and throttle response less (negatively) but i haven't tried one since.

What intake/carb are you using?

It's perfectly alright to remove the spacer. Just make sure you don't have any interference elsewhere, like the throttle linkage getting hung up on anything.

It is a edlebrock 600 4 barrel carb and a edlebrock rpm intake, the spacer plate is the 4 hole type, it does not look like the carb will have any linkage issues, I'll try it without it and see how it goes :)
