carb question

my question is about a holley "economaster" 4360.
will it work on a eddlebrock performer and will the throttle linkage mount up or will it have to be modified. The car is a 1967 289 2v. If anyone could be of help it would be very appreciated. if I did not provide enough info please ask me.... Thanks.

I went to summit, and couldn't find anything other than a float or rebuild kit with the number 4360.

Could you be a bit more specific?

Its a 4bbl q-jet replacemnet carb. 450 CFM mechanical secondaries. dont know what the jet size is but its a spread bore flange. what oter info would be helpfull?

I'd go for at least a 600CFM carb if were you.

I ran a square bore 450 with M/secondaries for almost a year on my 351W, it worked fine.
If you have an automatic transmission though, I think I'd look more at a 600 cfm with V/secondaries.
Is the rest of the engine in pretty good condition? No knocking or rattles or anything?

The engine has 59K on it. no knocks or rattles. Im working with this carb because its what I have.... Im working on the money for a 600 cfm, but for now the 450 is what I have..... the question is what will I have to do to get the throttle linkage to work. or any other suggestions as well. it is an automatic/c4 it seems to be backwards from what I have. its of an old chevy does that make a difference?

Oh, I thought you were going to go buy a 450, I didn't realize you had one.
It should work fine. You may have to 'finagle' something with the linkage, if your car has the rod that connects the gas peddle to the carb. It should'nt be too difficult...

Thanks, so do you happen to know if it will bolt up directly to the manifold or will I have to buy a adapter plate.... Im assuming it will need an adapter plate sense the intake is a standard square bore insted of a spread bore. any other tips or tricks you can give me on that you all have learned over the years....

If the carb will sit flat on the intake, and if you can open the throttle plates you should be fine without a spacer. Physical operation will make that choice for you.
If you can't the rod to fit on the carb, you may be able to snag/fabricate a throttle cable off of any older 60's/70's car that is still in the junk yard.
I can't see exactly what you're working with from here....
