I just bought an 85 coupe with a 4cyl. There is a guy down the street selling a wrecked mark VI with the 4.6 DOHC for under 1000. The whole car. It would be nice to go FI but for simplicity and w/e I wanna go carb. What all will I need? I wanna do this as cheap as I can. Do I just use the engine and trans? Where do I get a manifold for the DOHC its like a '94. Sulivan only has an intake for '99 and up.

I had this same opportunity and missed out on the mark. But carbed is what I had planned as well. A couple differant company's sell the intake. It will be awesome when done.

I don't know who sells them. A friend of mine and his Dad built a 90 vert using a Navi 5.4L DOHC motor. He hand made an aluminum intake for a carb. It took him over 80 hours...and it is 1 of 1 made!! He said everybody at car shows wanted to buy it from him, but then his car wouldn't run...HAHA.

I would use the motor and trans, and as much harness as you can to get it running FI. It will be way cooler.
