Carbon deposits

Just noticed that carbon deposits are being spewed on the ground at the back from the exhaust... Is this normal? Is the car running to rich @ idle? I have a 331 stroker with quite a lot of mods but it never got a dyno tune. Smells gas pretty bad at stoplights also...

If its just during warm up, it could just be being drawn out with the condesation (water) leaving the system after sitting overnight. One sure fire way to find out is to take it to the local dyno and stuff an A/F ratio probe up the tailpipe.

Will do that when spring comes... Right now it's going in the garage for winter. Will have a supercharger to install during that time. Should I get a dyno tune before and after installing it? I guess it would be a waste of time and money to do it now since it will be a different animal with the supercharger...

If you're going to be putting a blower on it over the winter, and you're putting it away now, wait till spring for the dyno tune.

Ya no point in gettin it dyno tuned before putting the supercharger on cause you will just have to do it again when you do put it on.
