Carbon fiber hood

eff you cee kay that Josh, bring it back to the guy and just get a boss inc fiberglass hood. Shipping is free to a terminal, and they are pretty light and fit mint.

Eh not really cheap.

Yeah then hassle him, im dealing with fiberglass body work because of the measly $100 i payed for it, if my budget was a but bigger i would have bought a nicer hood. Fits ok, but we'll see what it looks like after the fenders and bumper cover are back on.

I was thinking what it would take to make a lift off hood in aluminum. A basic welding shop will have a radius break and bead stamper. I wonder if i could have a piece of aluminum rolled at the same degree as the front the have him punch a bead about 1" high that slightly resembles the stock lines then i could cut to fit everything else, the hood would weigh like 10lbs and i could even keep it a bolt on if i wanted. Theyre just dreams though

Kind of off-topic but I'm really diggin' these hood latches. They look like they'd be a PITA to install though.

Yea I know they make them I just wasent really looking to spend $1,000 on a hood after paint. I just gutted the stocker pretty good and the battery in the scale died, so I will have to have a weight later today. It is flimsy, but once its on the car I doubt that will be the case. If I had to guess its around 28 lbs, which is only 6 lbs more then the stock glass hood just posted. Going to have napa mix me up a spray bomb can for the underside of the hood and sray away. If the guy that sold me the hood doesnt want to help me out I will prob end up just trying to sell it to a local that doesnt care how it fits just that is carbon fiber.

I took me about 7-8 hours to install them. That was with me measuring five times before I would cut or drill something. They were also pretty difficult to install on a bugeye hood seeing as it doesn't have many flat surfaces, and at the time I was the only one with them on a bugeye (afaik). However, I got the CF pattern ones, and it matched up nearly perfect with the hood's CF pattern. They look really good in person.

Just add one pound of bewst and it will make up for the extra weight lol. Once you get that car dialed its gonna fly.

I hear good things but hate the shape of the cowl

I was skeptical about the cowl shape but i love it on my car and im glad i went with it. People done even notice that its wider and its got a much nicer rise than others ive seen. It also has the same amount of clearance on the front of the intake as a 4" does but its only 3.25"

Yea I hope so, funny I thought putting a decent mota in it and slapping the blower one and it was ready to roll. That was a year and a half ago lol. Its finally going to be 100% ready in the spring for sure. Old cage is out interior is gutted and Paul is gonna start working on a "10 point" in the next couple weeks.

Iam trying to get him to do it at my house actually just bring his tig over and do it over a couple weekends. He said it will take him around 40 hours for everything I am looking to do. If not ill bring it to his house. Gonna order the materials this week. Is yours a 8 point now? How many kits are going in it? 150/300 I hope!
